In January 2017 we were named in Becker’s Hospital Review as one of 59 hospitals in the country with an ED Door-to-Doc time of 3 minutes… We are the only hospital in Indiana to have received this recognition

In Spring 2018, Tom Heniff MD (President of BCEM) was awarded the Fred Osborn Award by the Indiana chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. The annual award recognizes a Hoosier emergency physician who has exemplified excellence in leadership skills as well as contributions to the Emergency Medicine community at the local, regional, and state level.

Witham Health Services at Anson has been a 4-time (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) winner of the Press-Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Satisfaction, reflecting >99th percentile satisfaction scores for 4 quarters each year.

In the first year of BCEM’s partnership with Major Hospital, ED Press-Ganey overall score improved by 73%, “left-without-being-seen” rate decreased by >70%, and ED length of stay decreased by 10% due to process improvement and other initiatives by the BCEM and nursing leadership team.

The Leadership Team has attended all 3 Phases of the ACEP (American College of Emergency Physicians) ED Director Academy, regarded as “a must” for developing the skills of successful Emergency Medicine medical directors. Our ED Nursing Director at Major has also participated in Phase II.
