About Lauren Stanley, MD
Assistant Medical Director at Witham and Major
Dr. Stanley is an Assistant Medical Director of the ED’s at Witham, Major, and Johnson Memorial Hospitals. She grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana, then traveled southward to complete her undergraduate degrees in Cognitive Studies and Violin Performance at Vanderbilt University. She came back to the Midwest for medical school at Northwestern University, then was drawn to Indianapolis for the excellent clinical training at Indiana University EM, where she was a Chief Resident.
Dr. Stanley has an interest in the administrative aspect of Emergency Medicine, and has enjoyed having the opportunity to develop this interest, including attending the ACEP ED Directors Academy with the rest of the leadership team. She is the Medical Director of the Stroke Program at Johnson Memorial Hospital. In 2017-2018, she participated in the Suburban Health Organization Physician Leadership Series. She is on the Board of Directors of Indiana ACEP, and in 2020-21 served as the INACEP President.
When not at work, you may find Dr. Stanley rehearsing with her band, “The Saucy Dawgs,” in which she plays violin, sings, and dabbles in mandolin. She lives in Zionsville with her husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs. Her favorite part of BCEM is the fact that her partners are more like family than “just coworkers,” and that she has felt to be a welcomed, integral part of the group from day one.
